Filey is a great place to spend your holidays with lots of places to visit. Here are a few of our suggestions
Filey Beach

Known for its long, sandy beaches, Filey is perfect for beach walks, sandcastle building, and relaxing by the sea. The beach is also great for bird watching, especially at the Filey Brigg end.
Filey Brigg

A narrow, long rock peninsula to the north of the town, popular for fishing, rock pooling, and bird watching. There are also some lovely coastal walks with stunning views.
Crescent Gardens

These gardens provide a beautiful, tranquil setting overlooking the bay. Ideal for a leisurely walk or a picnic.
Bird Garden & Animal Park

A great family attraction with a variety of birds and animals. It’s perfect for children and has beautiful gardens to explore.
Filey Museum

Housed in a 17th-century building, the museum showcases the local history and heritage of Filey. It’s a must-visit for history enthusiasts.
Glen Gardens

These gardens offer a peaceful retreat with a play park for children, a boating lake, and lovely flower displays.
The Cleveland Way

For hiking enthusiasts, part of this long-distance walking route runs through Filey, offering spectacular coastal views.
Filey Golf Club

If you’re into golf, this is one of the oldest courses in Yorkshire with stunning sea views.
Sea Fishing

A prime sea fishing destination, offering a rich variety of fish species like cod, mackerel, bass, and flatfish. Its standout feature, Filey Brigg, provides excellent rock fishing.

Delightful array of local food, with fresh seafood being a standout. Local fish and chip shops serve some of the best crispy cod and haddock, caught fresh from the North Sea.

Filey is well-positioned for visiting other coastal towns like Scarborough, Bridlington, and Whitby, each offering its own unique attractions. There are also wonderful hidden gems like Flamborough, Ravenscar and Robins Hoods Bay all a short drive away and absolutely worth a visit.

we are perfectly positioned for some great places
Dalby Forest is a full day out and about 15 miles from us. It has bike hire, Go Ape and Segways and tons of walks.
For an outside water park, paddle boarding, zip line, activity day we can recommend here – https://www.northyorkshirewaterpark.co.uk/ It also has an escape room. It’s about 10 minutes from Blacksmiths Cottages
Sewerby Park and Gardens is lovely and we go often – it also has a small zoo with a lovely clifftop walk
Beverley is a sightseeing day out, a very beautiful place with a gorgeous Minster. Market Day is Wednesday and Saturday. It is located about 45 mins from us.
Foodie capital of the north is Malton about 20 mins drive and is highly recommended. A truly lovely market town.
